Caregivers

Who is caring for this community

This care community is supported by a small group of people who take on daily responsibility for the children’s safety, wellbeing, and development.

At the center of this work is Kendrick, alongside a group of caretakers who help provide consistent care under often difficult conditions.

Meet Kendrick

Founder and community leader

Kakaire Sulaiman (Kendrick Seans) is 31 years old and was born on January 21, 1995. He is the third of five brothers, all of whom are living and working within the orphanage community. As founder and director, he takes on many roles in the day-to-day running of the work.

Kendrick was orphaned at the age of 6. Over time, he began gathering children through care, shared life, and creative expression — including dance, which later became Wonders Dance Academy. What began as connection and mentorship gradually grew into a small, grassroots care community, and today he continues to lead this work alongside caretakers who support the children day to day.

His passion for dance began at a young age and led to a scholarship opportunity. Today, he teaches many of the children who share that same passion, using dance as a way of building confidence, connection, and joy.

What defines this work is not scale or formal structure, but consistency, responsibility, and commitment over time.

The caretakers

Alongside Kendrick, a group of nine caretakers support the children in this community.

Their work includes daily supervision, cooking, helping children attend school, maintaining the living environment, and supporting younger children. It is ongoing, practical, and often demanding.

These caretakers are part of the reason this community continues to exist.

A growing effort

This is still an early-stage effort.

The goal is to continue strengthening the conditions that allow this group of caregivers to provide more stable, consistent care over time.
